About this artwork
A single railway track runs straight through the middle of the frame, laid on a narrow causeway of pebbles across shallow, crystal-clear water. Coming towards us along it is a small two-car train in teal and cream, its headlights glowing, while behind it the sun sits right on a line of distant mountains. Rays fan out from the sun through a vast bank of cloud in coral, rose and gold.
The water is so still that the sky is mirrored in it, and the sunset clouds appear twice, once above the horizon and again beneath it. Closer to the viewer the reflection gives way to turquoise shallows where rounded stones show on the bed. This anime train print uses a strong central perspective that draws the eye down the rails towards the light, and it sets the warm sky against cool aqua for a balanced, dreamlike palette.
About Crepuscular Rays
The beams fanning out from the sun in this scene are known as crepuscular rays, from the Latin word for twilight. They appear when sunlight passes through gaps in clouds or past mountains, and the shafts become visible because haze, dust or moisture in the air scatters the light. Although they seem to spread out from the sun like the spokes of a wheel, the rays are almost parallel. The fan shape is an effect of perspective, much like railway lines that appear to meet in the distance.
How to style it
Works well in a hallway, bedroom or home office and brings warmth to blue, teal or grey walls. Hang it beside the meteor lake design for a sunset-and-starlight pair. Explore the full Anime Sky Art collection.

Questions & answers
Is the sea train print based on a real railway?
No. It is an imagined scene, an original ITCLabStudio design inspired by Japanese animation-style skies rather than a real line or a scene from any film. The train, causeway and mountains were all composed for this artwork.
Is this a good gift for a train lover?
Yes. It suits rail enthusiasts and travellers who like a gentler, more atmospheric take on trains than a technical poster. The warm sunset palette also makes it easy to place in most rooms.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
