About this artwork

A round swarm of golden stars glows at the heart of the composition, dense and bright at its core and loosening towards its edges, where individual stars throw out fine four-pointed glints. It looks almost like a scatter of gold dust held together by an invisible force — which, in a sense, it is.

Behind it the sky is layered and smoky, in navy and slate blue rather than flat black. A thread of Milky Way crosses the top left corner, a teal and gold nebula drifts in from the right, and a small cloud of dusty pink trimmed with gold sits low on the left. The arrangement feels loose and organic, never crowded. This star cluster wall art adds sparkle without heaviness, so it brightens hallways, entryways and smaller rooms where a darker planet print might feel too weighty.

About Star Clusters

Stars often live in groups. Open clusters, such as the Pleiades, are loose gatherings of a few dozen to a few thousand young stars. Globular clusters, like the one this design evokes, are dense spheres of hundreds of thousands of stars held together by gravity. They orbit in the outer halo of galaxies, and many of their stars are more than ten billion years old, among the oldest known. The Milky Way has around 150 of them; Omega Centauri is the largest.

How to style it

Brightens a hallway, entryway or compact bedroom, and pairs beautifully with the Pleiades design to show both kinds of star cluster side by side. Explore the full Celestial Wall Art collection.

Questions & answers

What kind of star cluster does this print show?

It evokes a globular cluster — a dense, roughly spherical ball of very old stars bound by gravity. The design is an artistic interpretation rather than a specific catalogued cluster, rendered in golden tones to match the collection.

Can you see a globular cluster with the naked eye?

A few, under dark skies. Omega Centauri in the southern sky and the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules, known as M13, can appear as faint fuzzy stars without optical aid; binoculars or a small telescope reveal much more.

Is a frame included?

Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.

Which size should I choose?

As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.

How is my print made and shipped?

Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
