About this artwork
Neptune sits slightly left of centre, its globe swirling with ribbons of electric blue, cobalt and soft white. A warm, pale glow blooms at the centre of the disc, as though light were shining up through the clouds, and a faint, misty ring loops around the planet at a gentle tilt.
Bright golden stars burn in the upper left, and the Milky Way trails off towards the top right corner. Along the bottom, gold-leaf texture, teal and dusty pink clouds roll in to anchor the scene. The palette leans cooler than most of the collection, with blue dominating, so this Neptune wall art brings a restful, watery calm. It works especially well in bedrooms and bathrooms, or anywhere you want a planet print that feels tranquil rather than fiery.
About Neptune
Neptune is the eighth and most distant planet from the Sun, an ice giant whose blue colour comes from methane in its atmosphere absorbing red light. It was the first planet found through mathematics: in 1846 Johann Galle located it using predictions by Urbain Le Verrier. Neptune has the fastest winds measured on any planet and a set of faint, dark rings. Only one spacecraft, Voyager 2, has visited it, flying past in 1989. A single orbit of the Sun takes about 165 Earth years.
How to style it
Lovely in a bedroom, bathroom or calm office with white, grey or ocean-blue walls; pair it with the Saturn print or the Pleiades design to keep a cool blue thread across a gallery wall. Explore the full Celestial Wall Art collection.

Questions & answers
Does Neptune really have rings?
Yes. Neptune has a system of faint, narrow rings made of dust and ice, confirmed by Voyager 2 in 1989. They are much darker and harder to see than the soft ring shown in this design, which is an artistic interpretation.
Why is Neptune blue?
Methane gas in its atmosphere absorbs red light and reflects blue, much as it does on its neighbour Uranus. This design deepens that blue into azure and cobalt, softened with pale gold highlights.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
