About this artwork
A perfect black circle sits at the centre of the sky, outlined by a thin, glittering ring of gold. Around it a corona of white and silver light flares outward in fine, feathery rays, bright against the darkened sky. This is the rare moment of totality, when the Moon fully covers the Sun and day briefly turns to dusk.
Stars glint around the eclipse, a reminder that the brightest stars and planets can appear during totality, and a soft Milky Way band crosses the upper right. Clouds rise from below in gold-leaf texture, rose and layered teal, framing the black disc like a stage. This solar eclipse wall art is graphic and bold, a strong focal point for modern interiors, and a memorable keepsake for anyone who has stood in the path of totality and felt the air cool.
About Total Solar Eclipses
A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes directly between the Sun and Earth and completely covers the Sun's bright disc. It is possible because the Sun is about 400 times wider than the Moon but also about 400 times farther away. Only during totality does the corona — the Sun's outer atmosphere, heated to over a million degrees Celsius — become visible to the naked eye. Totality is seen only along a narrow path and lasts at most about seven and a half minutes.

Questions & answers
Is it safe to look at a solar eclipse?
Only with certified solar eclipse glasses or a proper solar filter, except during the brief minutes of totality itself. Looking at any partly visible Sun with unprotected eyes can cause permanent eye damage.
What is the glowing ring around the black disc?
It represents the solar corona, the Sun's faint outer atmosphere, which only becomes visible when the Moon blocks the bright surface during a total eclipse. The thin gold rim in this design is an artistic accent along the Moon's edge.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
