About this artwork
Morning mist lifts off Hoan Kiem Lake in this quiet, contemplative scene. A red wooden footbridge enters from the lower right and sweeps in a long curve across the water, its railings repeated in reflection, leading the eye to a small wooded island. There, a tiered pagoda glows amber and red, lit as if from within by the rising sun.
The sky is a wash of pale gold and buttery yellow, with pink clouds massing on the right above the pale buildings of the lakeshore. Low banks of fog drift over the water, softening every edge, and reflections of gold, rose and green ripple across the surface. This Hanoi wall art invites stillness. Its lettering is restrained: Hanoi in a classic serif, Vietnam in small capitals below a fine line.
About Hoan Kiem Lake
Hoan Kiem Lake — the 'Lake of the Returned Sword' — lies at the heart of Hanoi, just south of the Old Quarter. Legend tells that the 15th-century leader Le Loi returned a magical sword to a golden turtle in the lake after his victory over the Ming. On a small island stands Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of the Jade Mountain, reached by the red-painted The Huc Bridge, whose name is often translated as 'Morning Sunlight Bridge'. At dawn the shore fills with walkers and tai chi practice.

Questions & answers
Is the pagoda in the Hanoi print a real building?
It is an artistic interpretation. The scene draws on Hoan Kiem Lake's red The Huc Bridge and the temple island it leads to, reimagined as a tiered pagoda glowing in the dawn light rather than an exact architectural portrait.
What time of day does the Hanoi print show?
Early morning, just after sunrise. The sun sits low behind the pagoda, mist hangs over the lake and the sky glows pale gold — the quiet hour before the lakeside paths grow busy.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
