About this artwork
A red wooden bridge sweeps in from the bottom of the frame and curves away across the water, its railings leading the eye to a dark, wooded island. There a temple's windows glow warm gold, and a slender tiered pagoda rises against a large, pale moon sitting low on the horizon.
The sky moves from deep blue overhead to a band of soft gold above the far shore, where the city is only a faint outline. Mist lies across Hoan Kiem Lake in long drifts, and the still water mirrors the lit windows and the bridge. Underfoot, the wet boards of the walkway catch flashes of magenta, cyan and amber, and overhanging branches frame the top corner. Hushed and meditative, this Hanoi night print is one of the gentlest designs in the collection. Set over the bridge in a soft serif, the city name is paired with 'Vietnam' in small capitals.
Hoan Kiem Lake After Dark
Hoan Kiem, the Lake of the Returned Sword, lies at the heart of Hanoi, steps from the Old Quarter. At night the red Huc Bridge is lit as it arches out to Ngoc Son Temple on its small island, and the old Turtle Tower glows on its islet further out. From Friday to Sunday evenings the roads around the lake close to traffic and become a pedestrian zone filled with families, street games and music, while the Old Quarter's weekend night market runs nearby.

Questions & answers
Is the bridge in the Hanoi print the Huc Bridge?
It is inspired by it. The red railings and the curve towards a temple island echo the Huc Bridge and Ngoc Son Temple, though the composition is an artistic interpretation rather than an exact view.
What mood does the Hanoi design have?
Quiet and contemplative. Mist, still water and a low moon give it a hushed, meditative feel that suits bedrooms and reading corners.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
