About this artwork
Schönbrunn Palace stretches across the middle of the design, its long imperial-yellow facade glowing as every window lights up gold. Above it, the sky catches fire in bands of magenta, coral and orange, with darker cloud pressing in from the top.
The formal gardens lead the eye in. A round fountain at the centre throws up white spray, its basin lit blue and pink, and clipped hedges and topiary balls line the paths on either side. In the foreground the ground is wet and mirror-like, so the palace and the fountain return as pools of gold, magenta and blue, while mist softens the edges among the trees. Refined and quietly theatrical, this Vienna night print shows imperial grandeur in evening dress. 'Vienna' is set in a graceful serif across the foreground, with 'Austria' in small capitals below.
About Schönbrunn Palace at Night
Schönbrunn, the Habsburgs' summer residence on the edge of Vienna, keeps a busy evening calendar. Each early summer the Vienna Philharmonic gives its free Summer Night Concert in the palace gardens, with the Gloriette on the hill behind the stage. Through much of the year, concerts of Mozart and Strauss are held in the palace Orangery, and in winter a Christmas market sets up in the forecourt in front of the main facade.
How to style it
Elegant in a dining room, living room or entrance hall with classic furniture, panelling or gilt frames. Hang it beside Prague or Berlin from the collection to build an old-Europe evening wall. Explore the full Cities at Night collection.

Questions & answers
Is the fountain in the Vienna print lit?
Yes. The round fountain in the formal garden glows blue and magenta, and its colours run across the wet parterre towards the viewer.
Does the Vienna print suit a classic interior?
It does. The imperial yellow facade and formal garden sit naturally with panelled walls, antique furniture and gilt frames, while the vivid sky keeps it fresh.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
