About this artwork
A tall ornate lamp glows in the top left corner, the first of a line of lamps that leads the eye along the embankment to Tower Bridge. Its two Gothic towers are lit warm gold, the high walkways between them catch the light, and a double-decker bus crosses in dark silhouette. Behind, a streak of hot pink cuts through the deep blue sky.
Mist lifts off the Thames, blurring the base of the bridge, and the river beneath is full of gold reflections. The stone wall and paving of the riverside walk are wet, and in them the lights break into squares of amber, pink and blue. Hushed and grown-up, this London night print shows the city after the crowds have gone home. 'London' is lettered in a classic serif over the paving, with 'United Kingdom' in spaced capitals beneath.
About Tower Bridge at Night
Tower Bridge crosses the Thames beside the Tower of London, and after dark its towers and suspension chains are lit against the river. It is still a working bascule bridge: the roadway lifts for tall ships and other large vessels, with lift times published in advance. The Thames Path along both banks makes a classic evening walk, from the Tower and St Katharine Docks on the north side to Potters Fields and the old warehouse lanes of Shad Thames on the south.

Is there a bus on Tower Bridge in the London print?
Yes. A double-decker crosses the bridge as a dark silhouette, small enough to read as a passing detail rather than a focal point.
What gives the London design its glow?
Warm lamplight. A large Victorian-style lamp in the foreground and a row of lamps along the embankment echo the gold of the bridge, set against a deep blue sky with a streak of pink.
Is a frame included?
