About this artwork
The domes and minarets of the Blue Mosque stand in silhouette against the sun, which sits low and white-gold behind them. The sky above flares from yellow to orange to hot pink, and a few gulls wheel across it. Mist gathers along the waterfront, softening the outline of the city.
The left side of the frame is filled by an old Istanbul house, its windows glowing amber and its ground floor edged in pink and blue neon. A short stone pier leads out to glittering water, where a small fishing boat rides at anchor. Wet cobblestones in the foreground catch every colour. Rich, warm and quietly dramatic, this Istanbul night print sets the last blaze of daylight against the first lamps of evening. Over the cobbles, the city name is written in an elegant italic serif, with 'Turkiye' in small capitals beneath.
About the Blue Mosque at Night
The Sultan Ahmed Mosque, known as the Blue Mosque for the Iznik tiles inside, faces Hagia Sophia across Sultanahmet Square. After sunset its domes and six minarets are floodlit, and the evening call to prayer carries across the gardens between the two buildings. During Ramadan the square fills with families breaking the fast, and mahya, lines of lights strung between the minarets to spell out short messages, continue a tradition from Ottoman times.
How to style it
Its warm oranges and pinks glow against white, sand or deep teal walls in a living room, dining room or study. Pair it with Antalya for a Turkish duo, or with Bangkok's Wat Arun for a wall of sacred skylines. Explore the full Cities at Night collection.

Questions & answers
Why does the Istanbul print show a sunset sky?
Because it catches the moment night begins. The sun sits low behind the mosque while the house windows and shopfronts below are already lit, joining the blaze of the sky to the glow of the evening streets.
Are there seagulls in the Istanbul design?
Yes. A few gulls wheel across the burning sky above the minarets, a detail anyone who has stood on the Istanbul waterfront will recognise.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
