About this artwork
A great limestone karst rises from the sea, its sheer face streaked in blue and grey, with mist wrapping its base and smaller islands fading into the distance. The sun is slipping below the horizon on the right, and the sky glows gold with soft pink clouds.
In the foreground a wooden longtail boat rides at anchor on clear turquoise water, its high prow wrapped in red ribbon and its small cabin lit in pink, blue and amber. A boatman waits at the stern, a small silhouette, and the cabin lights spill down into the water. Gentle waves wash onto a dark beach at the bottom, and leaves frame the upper corner. Warm, slow and faraway, this Phuket longtail boat print shows the island at the end of a long day. Over the water, the city name appears in a soft serif, with 'Thailand' in small capitals below.
Phuket After Dark
Longtail boats, named for the long propeller shaft that trails behind the engine, are the workhorses of Phuket's coast, ferrying people between beaches and islands. Their bows are often tied with colourful ribbons and garlands as offerings to the boat's guardian spirit. Off the island's east coast, the limestone towers of Phang Nga Bay rise from the sea, and on Sunday evenings Thalang Road in Phuket Old Town becomes a walking street market of food stalls and lights.

Questions & answers
Is the Phuket print a night scene?
It is set at nightfall, with the sun sinking behind the island and the boat's cabin lights already glowing. That mix of last light and lamplight is what places it in the night collection.
What are the ribbons on the longtail boat?
They are garlands tied to the bow, a Thai tradition honouring the boat's guardian spirit. In the design they add a small flash of red against the turquoise water.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
