About this artwork
Rain slants across the whole design, falling from a stormy teal sky onto Shibuya Crossing. Office blocks crowd the junction, hung with glowing billboards in red, magenta and pink, and on the largest building a giant screen shows an anime-style figure crackling with electric blue light.
The zebra stripes run diagonally across the wet asphalt, almost empty, with only faint shapes at the far side. Every sign is mirrored in the black, shining road in vertical bars of colour. On the right, an old-fashioned street lamp glows warm amber, a quiet, nostalgic note amid all that neon, and mist rolls in from the edges. This Tokyo neon print is moody and cinematic, close to cyberpunk but strangely peaceful. Across the crossing, the city name is written in a flowing serif, with 'Japan' in small capitals beneath.
Shibuya After Dark
Shibuya Crossing, outside Shibuya Station, is often called the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world: when the lights change, traffic stops in every direction and people stream across at once. After dark it is ringed by giant video screens and illuminated signs, and rain turns the asphalt into a mirror of colour. The Shibuya Sky deck, on top of Shibuya Scramble Square, overlooks the crossing from above, and the statue of the loyal dog Hachikō waits by the station exit.

Questions & answers
Is Shibuya Crossing empty in the Tokyo print?
Almost. The crossing is deserted in the rain, with only faint shapes at the far kerb, which turns one of the world's busiest junctions into a quiet, cinematic stage.
What is on the big screen in the Tokyo design?
An anime-style figure fills one giant video screen, a nod to the animated advertising that lights up Shibuya at night. It is a generic illustrated figure rather than a licensed character.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
