About this artwork
Taipei 101 rises through the centre of the design, its stacked segments glowing jade green and white like a column of lanterns. All around it, red paper sky lanterns drift upwards, some large and close, others shrinking into tiny sparks against the deep blue night.
Dark trees fill the left side, a soft column of mist rises from the base of the tower, and on the right a row of low buildings glows with amber windows and pink and blue neon trim. The street runs straight towards the tower, wet and empty, its surface full of red, violet and orange reflections. Warm and hopeful, this Taipei night print feels like a wish being made. 'Taipei' is lettered in a graceful serif across the road, with 'Taiwan' in small capitals below.
Taipei After Dark
Taipei 101's eight stacked segments echo a pagoda and a stalk of bamboo, and at night the tower is lit above the Xinyi district. On New Year's Eve it launches one of the best-known fireworks displays in Asia. The sky lanterns in this design recall the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival in New Taipei, when wishes written on paper lanterns are released into the night. For an evening view of the tower, many climb Elephant Mountain, and the Raohe and Shilin night markets serve food until late.
How to style it
Warm and uplifting in a living room, bedroom or home office, especially with red, gold or dark green accents. Pair it with Hong Kong or Macau from the collection for a lantern-lit Asian set. Explore the full Cities at Night collection.

Questions & answers
Are sky lanterns really released near Taipei 101?
Not as a rule. The lanterns are an artistic touch borrowed from Taiwan's sky lantern tradition, best known from the Pingxi festival outside the city, combined here with the Taipei skyline.
What colour is Taipei 101 in the print?
Jade green and white, its stacked segments glowing like a lantern themselves above the dark trees and the neon-lit street.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
