About this artwork
A tilted spiral galaxy sweeps across the upper middle of the design, its creamy core wrapped in rings of gold, rose and bronze. Rather than sitting cleanly in space, it seems to dissolve into the clouds around it, its outer arms blending into a broad sea of teal and turquoise that spreads across the lower half.
Gold flakes and glints catch along the galaxy's arms, and a large rose-pink cloud rolls in at the bottom right, edged with gold. Above, the indigo sky is clear and dotted with warm stars, plus the faint scratch of a passing meteor. The effect is more mood than map. This cosmic wall art is one of the most painterly designs in the collection, and its blend of teal, rose and gold sits well with velvet, rattan and plants in eclectic or boho interiors.
About Cosmic Dust and Gas
The space between the stars is not completely empty. It holds the interstellar medium: extremely thin gas, mostly hydrogen and helium, mixed with tiny grains of dust. In places this material gathers into vast clouds that dim and redden the light of stars behind them. These clouds are the raw ingredients of new stars and planets, and much of their dust was forged in earlier generations of stars. As Carl Sagan put it, we are made of star-stuff.

Questions & answers
Is this design abstract or a real galaxy?
It sits between the two. A recognisable spiral galaxy forms the centre, but it is blended loosely into abstract teal, rose and gold cloud, so the design reads more as a cosmic mood than as a portrait of a particular galaxy.
Which interiors suit jewel-tone celestial art?
Jewel tones work especially well in eclectic, boho and maximalist rooms with velvet, brass and natural textures. They also bring welcome colour to neutral or white rooms, where the teal and rose stand out against plain walls.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
