About this artwork
A comet races down through the sky on a long diagonal, its bright, glowing head near the lower left and its tail stretching back towards the upper right corner. The tail is built from fine gold glitter that thins and fades as it goes, until it seems to dissolve into the haze of the Milky Way.
The night around it is deep blue and lightly clouded, with a few scattered stars, two of them bursting with long gold rays. At the bottom, the comet seems about to graze a horizon of cloud: gold-leaf texture on the left, teal in the middle, dusty rose and gold at the right. The diagonal energy makes this comet wall art feel optimistic and forward-moving, a good choice for an office, a new home, or to mark a fresh start.
About Comets
Comets are small icy bodies of frozen gases, rock and dust left over from the formation of the Solar System. Far from the Sun they are dark and inactive, but as they approach it their ice turns to gas, forming a glowing cloud called a coma and tails that can stretch for millions of kilometres. Pushed by sunlight and the solar wind, a comet's tails always point away from the Sun. Halley's Comet, the most famous, returns roughly every 76 years.
How to style it
Adds movement to a home office, entryway or teenager's room; pair it with the meteor shower design for a wish-upon-a-star theme or with the solar system print for a space-science wall. Explore the full Celestial Wall Art collection.

Questions & answers
What is the difference between a comet and a meteor?
A comet is an icy body orbiting the Sun, often visible for days or weeks as a slow-moving fuzzy object with a tail. A meteor is the brief streak of light made when a tiny particle burns up in Earth's atmosphere, lasting only a second or so.
When will Halley's Comet return?
Halley's Comet is next expected in the inner Solar System in 2061. It last passed close to the Sun in 1986, and its roughly 76-year cycle means some people see it twice in a lifetime.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
