About this artwork
This design is mostly sky. A thin golden crescent hangs in the upper right, small against a wide expanse of indigo, and that sense of space is the whole point. A soft drift of Milky Way haze runs diagonally through the centre, and a few warm stars glint here and there like lamps seen from far away.
Towards the bottom, the night gives way to cloud — gold-leaf texture on the left, cool teal through the middle and dusty rose on the right. Unlike most designs in the collection, the artwork sits inside a deep navy inner border before the cream outer margin and gold keyline, which gives it a framed, almost window-like depth. As crescent moon wall art it is restful and understated, a good choice when you want atmosphere without a dominant focal point.
About the Crescent Moon
A crescent appears when less than half of the Moon's Earth-facing side is lit. A waxing crescent shows in the western sky after sunset in the days following new moon; a waning crescent rises before dawn as the cycle ends. Often the dark part of the disc glows faintly. This is earthshine — sunlight reflected off Earth onto the Moon — sometimes poetically called the old moon in the new moon's arms.

What is the dark border around the artwork?
It is a deep navy inner border that is part of this design. It sits inside the cream margin and fine gold keyline, adding depth and making the crescent feel framed even when the print hangs on its own.
When can you see a crescent moon?
A waxing crescent is visible low in the western sky shortly after sunset for several days after new moon. A waning crescent appears instead in the eastern sky before sunrise, near the end of the lunar cycle.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
