About this artwork
A single ribbon of colour winds down the frame in a long S-curve, from the top edge to the bottom. It is made of three bands laid side by side: hot magenta on the outer edge, coral through the middle and saffron yellow on the inner side, which widens and brightens towards the lower half. Strings of small yellow and pink cells run along the seams where the bands meet.
Around it, the ground is a near-black midnight teal, softly marbled with darker swirls and dusted with tiny golden specks like distant stars. Fine gold-toned threads flow parallel to the ribbon's curves, so the whole background seems to move with it. The contrast is the point: against so much darkness the warm colours almost glow. As dark abstract wall art it gives a room drama without heaviness, and it looks especially sharp in a black metal frame. About the Gold Lines

Questions & answers
Will the dark background look heavy on the wall?
No. The near-black ground is broken up by fine gold-toned threads and the bright ribbon, so it reads as rich rather than gloomy. On a white wall it becomes a strong graphic accent; on a dark wall it blends in and lets the ribbon glow.
Which rooms suit dark abstract wall art?
Bedrooms, lounges, dining rooms and home offices, especially rooms lit by warm lamps in the evening. Dark abstract art also works in spaces with lots of white, where a single deep-toned piece adds depth and focus.
Is a frame included?
