Hooded Hero Above the Neon Megacity — Art Print

About this artwork

A lone figure in a hooded, tattered cloak stands on the edge of a wet rooftop, back turned, looking into a city that seems to have no end. Skyscrapers crowd the frame on every side, their facades dotted with tiny lit windows and split by tall vertical strips of hot magenta and electric cyan. Rain falls in fine diagonal streaks, and violet mist pools between the towers far below.

Sleek flying vehicles cut across the scene with red lights and blue thrusters, trailing beams of pink light. Directly ahead of the figure, a pale glow breaks through at the vanishing point, pulling the eye past the hood and deep into the city. The rooftop underfoot shines with reflected neon. Mostly dark, with colour used sparingly, this cyberpunk city wall art has the tension of a scene just before the story starts.

About Neon Megacities

The rain-soaked, neon-lit megacity is the signature setting of cyberpunk, a science-fiction genre that took shape in the early 1980s around the idea of advanced technology in a crowded, unequal world. Towering skyscrapers, flying vehicles and glowing signage became its shorthand, later carried into films, comics and games. Real neon tubes glow reddish-orange from the neon gas itself; the blues, pinks and violets that define the look come from other gases and coated glass.

How to style it

Best on a dark wall in a games room, home office or teen bedroom, where its magenta and cyan accents echo LED strip lighting; it suits industrial and modern interiors. Pair it with the dragon design for a wall of lone heroes. Explore the full Neon Gamer Wall Art collection.
