About this artwork
Mount Fuji stands alone in the lower third of the composition, its slopes washed in vermilion and streaked with pale lines of lingering snow. Low cloud gathers around its base in long, flat bands, so the mountain seems to float above a quiet sea of mist. This Mount Fuji print keeps everything else deliberately spare.
The sky does most of the work. It climbs from a soft blush just above the clouds through warm gold and pale green to a deep, clear blue at the top edge, a gradual shift in the spirit of traditional bokashi shading. Visible paper grain adds texture to the flat colour fields. The mood is early morning stillness: the moment before the day begins, when the light is warm and nothing yet moves. It is an easy focal point for a room that needs calm rather than detail.
About Mount Fuji
At 3,776 metres, Mount Fuji is Japan's highest mountain and an active stratovolcano whose last eruption was in 1707. In 2013 it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised as a sacred place and a source of artistic inspiration. The name Red Fuji recalls Hokusai's Fine Wind, Clear Morning, in which the peak glows red, and a real effect: on some late-summer and early-autumn mornings, sunrise turns the mountain's bare volcanic slopes a vivid red.
How to style it
Works in minimalist, japandi and Scandinavian rooms, especially above a bed, desk or low console. Pairs naturally with other Fuji views or the layered mountain design. Explore the full Japandi Wall Art collection.

Questions & answers
Why is Mount Fuji red in this print?
The red colour reflects early morning light on the mountain. It nods to the Red Fuji theme in Japanese art, made famous by Hokusai, and to the real moments at dawn when sunrise lights the volcanic slopes a warm red.
Is this a busy or minimal design?
It is minimal. A single mountain, a band of cloud and a wide graded sky fill the frame, leaving plenty of open space. That restraint makes it a calming choice for bedrooms, offices and quiet reading corners.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
