About this artwork

Four tapering spires climb into a turquoise sky, each one catching the low sun in gold and topped with an ornate finial. The basilica's carved stone surface is rendered in warm honey and rose, full of the organic, almost dripping forms that make Gaudí's work so recognisable. Two stained-glass windows glow jewel-bright in red, blue and violet within the façade.

Clouds of coral and fuchsia billow in from the left, while the sun burns softly in the upper right corner. A palm tree in the lower left adds a Mediterranean note and grounds the composition, and a light haze drifts around the base. Designed in-house by ITCLabStudio, this Barcelona wall art signs off with the city name in a refined serif above Spain in small capitals.

About the Sagrada Família

The Basílica de la Sagrada Família is Antoni Gaudí's great unfinished masterpiece in Barcelona's Eixample district. Construction began in 1882, and Gaudí took over the following year, devoting the rest of his life to it until his death in 1926. Work has continued ever since, funded largely by donations and visitor tickets. Pope Benedict XVI consecrated it as a minor basilica in 2010. On its western side, stained glass in warm reds and oranges blazes as the afternoon sun sinks.

How to style it

Questions & answers

Is the Sagrada Família finished?

Not yet. Building began in 1882 and has continued for well over a century, funded by donations and visitor tickets. The print is a painterly interpretation of the basilica rather than a technical record of its current state.

What makes this Barcelona design feel bright rather than moody?

The turquoise sky and low golden sun. Warm light catches every spire, coral and pink clouds fill the sky, and the stained glass glows in jewel tones, so the overall effect is joyful and sunlit rather than dark.

Is a frame included?

Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.

Which size should I choose?

As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.

How is my print made and shipped?

Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
