This gondola wall art looks straight down a narrow canal as the sun sets at its far end. In the foreground a black gondola with red cushioned seats rides the water, its oar resting along the hull and no gondolier in sight, which gives the scene a quiet, waiting feel. A second gondola is moored in shadow on the left, close to a humpbacked stone footbridge with a carved balustrade.
Tall houses in terracotta, rose and plum crowd both banks, with green shutters, white balconies and pointed arched windows on the right. About the Venetian Gondola
The gondola is the traditional flat-bottomed rowing boat of the Venetian lagoon and its canals. A gondolier stands near the stern and propels it with a single long oar, which rests in a carved wooden oarlock called a forcola. To keep the boat running straight despite being rowed on one side only, the hull is built slightly asymmetrical. By long tradition gondolas are black, and the metal ornament on the prow is known as the ferro. This design shows an imagined canal in that spirit, not a specific place.

Questions & answers
Does the design show a real canal in Venice?
No. It is an imagined Venetian-style canal, inspired by the look of the city's waterways rather than copied from one location. The gondolas, footbridge and pointed arched windows give it that unmistakable lagoon-city character.
Is there a gondolier in the scene?
No. The gondola in the foreground is empty, with its oar resting along the hull, and a second boat waits by the bridge. Without people, the canal feels calm and contemplative, like a moment just before an evening ride.
Is a frame included?

Which size should I choose?
