About this artwork
A young giraffe stands at full height, filling the length of the portrait sheet from its tufted ossicones to its small dark hooves. It has turned its head towards the viewer with a sprig of slender green leaves held in its mouth, and a pleased little smile shows around the stalk. Long lashes, a soft white muzzle and big ears make the face especially sweet.
The coat is where the colour lives. Instead of plain brown, the giraffe's patches are a mix of terracotta, sage green, dusty blue and golden sand, outlined in fine ink over a cream base. A short brown mane runs down the back of the neck, the tail ends in a dark tassel and a few tufts of grass sit at its feet. About Giraffes
The giraffe is the tallest living land animal, found on the savannas and open woodlands of Africa. Its long neck and long, dark tongue let it browse leaves high in the trees, including thorny acacias that few other animals can reach. Mothers give birth standing up, and the calf is usually up on its wobbly legs soon afterwards. No two giraffes share exactly the same coat pattern, and the horn-like ossicones on their heads are covered in skin and fur.

Questions & answers
Why are the giraffe's patches green and blue?
The colours follow the collection's soft palette. Real giraffes have brown patches, but here they are rendered in terracotta, sage, dusty blue and sand so the print blends with calm nursery colours and matches the other safari designs.
Where does the giraffe print look best?
On a narrow stretch of wall, beside a doorway or next to a cot, where its tall composition can shine. It also works as the centre of a set of three, with two shorter safari animals hung on either side.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
