Vintage Ski Posters
Vintage Ski Posters gathers 22 ski resorts in original designs inspired by the alpine travel posters of the 1950s: bold flat colour in sky blue, snow white, warm red and navy under a golden sun. Travel from Zermatt, St. Moritz and Kitzbühel across the Alps to Cortina d'Ampezzo and Courchevel, then on to Zakopane in the Tatras, Åre in Scandinavia, Niseko in Japan and Portugal's Serra da Estrela. Each print carries the resort's name in large red capitals.
How to style vintage ski posters
Ski posters bring sunshine to a winter room. In a chalet or ski apartment, hang one large 50 × 70 cm print above the fireplace or the dining table, or line up three 30 × 40 cm resorts along a hallway. At home, they turn a cosy living room, or an après-ski corner beside the drinks cabinet, into a reminder of the mountains. For a personal gallery wall, gather the resorts you have skied, one for each winter, and add to it as the list grows. Natural wood frames feel warm and chalet-like; black metal sharpens the graphic colours.
Questions & answers
Are these original vintage posters?
No. They are original digital designs by ITCLabStudio, created in the spirit of mid-century alpine ski posters. They are not vintage originals, reproductions of historic posters or official resort or tourism-board posters, and they have no connection with any resort operator.
Which ski resorts are in the collection?
Twenty-two resorts, from Swiss classics such as Zermatt, St. Moritz, Davos and Gstaad to Kitzbühel in Austria, Cortina d'Ampezzo and Val Gardena in Italy, and Megève and Courchevel in France. Beyond the Alps you will find Zakopane in Poland, Åre in Sweden, Niseko in Japan and Serra da Estrela in Portugal.
Do the posters show real places?
Yes. Every design is named after a real ski resort and draws on its best-known features, such as the Matterhorn above Zermatt or the Dolomites around Cortina d'Ampezzo. The scenes are stylised and imagined in poster fashion rather than exact views.
Are vintage ski posters a good gift for skiers?
Yes. A poster of a resort someone loves, or one they have just visited, makes a personal gift for a birthday, Christmas or the start of a new ski season. Several resorts together make a thoughtful set for a chalet or a first home.
