Vintage Travel Posters
Vintage Travel Posters brings together 24 original designs in the spirit of 1930s art deco travel art: flat elegant shapes, soft gradients and warm light in terracotta, sea blue, sand and olive. Instead of the usual capitals, it celebrates hidden gems, from Kotor and Rovinj to Giethoorn and Chefchaouen. At its heart is a Portugal series from a Portugal-based studio: Sintra, the Algarve, Madeira, the Azores, Nazaré, Óbidos, Aveiro and the Douro Valley.
How to build a travel memory wall
Start with the places you have been. Two or three posters of trips that mattered, such as a summer in the Algarve, a honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast or a weekend in Colmar, hang beautifully in a row, because every design shares the same cream border, bottom title band and navy lettering. For a gallery wall, build around one 50 × 70 cm anchor with several 30 × 40 cm or 20 × 30 cm prints, and keep the frames consistent: natural wood for warmth, black metal for a crisper look. Pair places by mood, such as Atlantic surf towns, Italian villages or canal scenes, or gather a Portugal set of four as a gift for anyone with Portuguese roots.
Questions & answers
Are these original vintage posters?
No. They are new, original digital designs by ITCLabStudio, created in the spirit of 1930s art deco travel posters. The flat shapes, soft gradients and paper grain give them a period look, but none is a reproduction of a historical poster or an official tourism poster.
Which Portuguese destinations are included?
Eight: Sintra, the Algarve, Madeira, the Azores, Nazaré, Óbidos, Aveiro and the Douro Valley. ITCLabStudio is based in Portugal, so the series ranges from a hilltop palace and golden sea arches to Atlantic islands, big-wave surf, a walled medieval town, canal boats and port-wine vineyards.
Do the places really look like this?
In spirit, yes. Each design is built around a real landmark or view, such as Ronda's Puente Nuevo or the twin crater lakes of Sete Cidades in the Azores, but details are simplified, rearranged or imagined to suit the art deco style, so they are evocative rather than literal.
Does every poster show the place name?
Yes. Each print has a cream band at the bottom with the place name in navy serif capitals, a thin terracotta rule and the country or region in small letters, so several designs hang together as a matching series.
