About this artwork
A badger trundles across a patch of woodland floor, head lowered and nose to the ground as it walks to the left. Its face carries the classic bold stripes, a white band down the middle and black bands through each eye, with small white-rimmed ears and a twinkle of curiosity. The back is a rounded hump of sand and soft sage green fur, while the legs and belly darken to inky blue-black.
Feathery ferns rise behind it on both sides, and a cluster of red-capped toadstools with white spots sprouts by its back feet, with one tiny mushroom peeping out at the front. The earthy path is scattered with a few fallen leaves and tufts of grass. Original digital artwork by ITCLabStudio, this badger nursery print has the gentle, old-fashioned feel of a classic children's book.
About Badgers
The European badger (Meles meles) is a sturdy, mostly nocturnal member of the weasel family, recognised by its black-and-white striped face. Badgers live in family groups in setts, underground networks of tunnels and chambers that can be used by many generations. They are tidy animals, regularly dragging in fresh bedding of grass, leaves and bracken. Earthworms make up a large part of their diet, along with insects, fruit, bulbs and roots dug from the soil.
How to style it
Perfect for a storybook-themed nursery, a woodland kids' room or a playroom with green and earthy tones. Pair it with the hedgehog and red squirrel designs for a classic forest-floor set. Explore the full Woodland & Safari Nursery Art collection.

Questions & answers
Are the mushrooms in the badger print realistic?
They are stylised storybook toadstools, red with white spots, chosen for colour and charm rather than accuracy. Together with the ferns they set the scene on a woodland floor without crowding the calm, open background.
Does the badger print suit an older child's room?
Yes. Its classic children's-book feel and earthy palette work just as well in a school-age child's bedroom or a family reading corner as in a nursery, so it can stay on the wall for years.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
