At the heart of the frame, a small wooded island floats on the emerald lake, carrying a white church with a red roof, a tall bell tower and a dark spire, plus a stone stair down to the water. Its reflection hangs upside down beneath it. About Lake Bled
Lake Bled lies in the foothills of the Julian Alps in north-west Slovenia. On its small island stands the pilgrimage Church of the Assumption, reached by traditional wooden pletna boats and a long stone staircase; visitors ring its bell to make a wish. Above the north shore, Bled Castle sits on a steep cliff and is one of the oldest castles in Slovenia. The lake is also known for kremšnita, the local cream cake, and as a gateway to Triglav National Park.

Is the church on the island in Lake Bled real?
Yes. Bled Island holds the pilgrimage Church of the Assumption, whose tall bell tower is the lake's famous landmark. The design keeps the island, the church and the castle on its cliff, simplifying them into flat art deco shapes.
Which season does the Lake Bled poster show?
It suggests early autumn. Rust, orange and olive trees fill the foreground while the conifers stay dark, giving the scene a warm, mellow feel that suits the collection's terracotta and gold palette. It works well all year round.
