About this artwork
Seen from the rim, a near-circular lake of deep cobalt blue fills the centre of this Crater Lake poster. Rising from the water is Wizard Island, a small rust-red cone dotted with dark pines, a little crater at its summit, and its reflection falling as a dark shadow in the lake below.
Steep crater walls ring the water, streaked in grey, ochre and rust where gullies run down to the shore, with a thin line of pines and a band of orange light along the top edge. Beyond the far rim, a strip of distant blue hills meets a calm teal sky marked with a few cream clouds. In the foreground lies the viewpoint: a rust-red slope scattered with dark stones, a patch of golden meadow and tall firs on either side, leading the eye down to the water. This original ITCLabStudio design follows the flat, limited palette of 1930s screen-print travel posters and is finished with Crater Lake and National Park · Oregon on its cream band.
About Crater Lake
Crater Lake National Park lies in the Cascade Range of southern Oregon and is the state's only national park, established in 1902. The lake fills a caldera formed when the volcano Mount Mazama erupted and collapsed about 7,700 years ago. Fed almost entirely by rain and snow, with no rivers flowing in or out, it is the deepest lake in the United States and famous for its intense blue colour. Wizard Island, a cinder cone, rises from its western side.

Questions & answers
What is the island in the Crater Lake poster?
It is Wizard Island, a small volcanic cinder cone that rises from the lake. The design shows it as a rust-red cone dotted with pines, with a little crater at its top, set against the deep blue water.
Is this an official Crater Lake poster?
No. This is an independent, original ITCLabStudio artwork made in a vintage travel-poster style. The park has not produced or approved it, and the view is an artistic interpretation rather than a survey of the caldera.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
