Behind, a towering wall of dark navy rock, streaked with snow and ice, rises to a sharp summit, an echo of the Eiger's famous north face. Smaller white peaks flank it on either side. Below, a cluster of log chalets with balconies and brick chimneys sits deep in snow, ribbons of smoke curling into the cold air, while a few firs stand on the slopes. A golden sun with radiating rays lights up the deep blue sky. The print is topped by a cream band carrying Grindelwald in red geometric capitals and Switzerland in small navy letters.
About Grindelwald and the Eiger
Grindelwald is a village in the Bernese Oberland, in the canton of Bern, spread across a broad valley beneath the Eiger, the Mettenberg and the Wetterhorn. The Eiger's north face, a dark wall of rock and ice rising almost straight above the meadows, is one of the most famous climbs in the Alps and was first climbed in 1938. Together with Wengen and Mürren, Grindelwald belongs to the Jungfrau region, one of Switzerland's long-established winter sports areas, with views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Is the mountain in the Grindelwald poster the Eiger?
It is a stylised mountain inspired by the Eiger, Grindelwald's famous neighbour. The dark, steep rock face recalls the Eiger's north face, simplified into flat navy and white shapes in the manner of a mid-century travel poster.
What colours does the Grindelwald poster use?
Deep navy and snowy white dominate, with a bright red skier, warm brown chalets and a golden sun against a strong blue sky. The red figure stands out sharply against the dark rock behind.
Is a frame included?
