From a high viewpoint, the old town spreads below in a patchwork of orange-tiled roofs and pale stone walls. A thick sea wall with a rounded bastion runs along the water, broken by small landing steps. On the right, a church bell tower with a dome and cross rises above the roofs, joined by a smaller red-capped tower, while arched windows and balconies line the houses in the foreground.
Beyond the town, the bay lies dark navy and still, and a tiny village with a slender spire sits on the far shore. Jagged grey mountains fill the upper half, their faces cut into faceted planes, beneath a golden sun with fanned rays. A cream band below carries Kotor in navy serif capitals and Montenegro in small letters. About Kotor
Kotor sits at the inner end of the Bay of Kotor on Montenegro's Adriatic coast, where steep limestone mountains rise almost straight from the water. Its old town is a maze of stone lanes and small squares, home to the Romanesque Cathedral of Saint Tryphon. Fortified walls climb the slope behind the town to the Fortress of St John, a steep but popular walk. The bay, often compared to a fjord, and the old town are protected together as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Questions & answers
Is the Bay of Kotor a fjord?
Not technically, though it is often described as one. Its long, winding inlet is enclosed by steep mountains, which gives it a fjord-like look, but it is generally described as a submerged river canyon. The poster sets its deep blue water against those dramatic peaks.
Is the Kotor poster a vintage original or a reproduction?
Neither. It is an original digital design by ITCLabStudio, created in the style of 1930s art deco travel posters, with flat shapes, a sunburst sky and soft paper texture. It does not copy any historical poster.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
