Around the figure, a dense forest of firs bows under thick snow, framing the scene on both sides. Tucked among the trees on the right, a log hut with a stone chimney glows with warm yellow windows and a lit doorway, inviting a stop for something hot. Behind the forest, the Brenta Dolomites rise in a ragged wall of salmon and tan rock towers, snow lying in their gullies, under a bright blue sky with puffs of white cloud and a golden sun. In the finished print, Madonna di Campiglio is spelled out in red capitals on a cream band at the top, with Italy in small navy type.
About Madonna di Campiglio
Madonna di Campiglio is a mountain resort in Trentino, northern Italy, set in a high valley between the Brenta Dolomites to the east and the Adamello-Presanella massif to the west. The Brenta group, with its sheer pale rock towers, is part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site and lies within the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. With slopes on both sides of the valley, Madonna di Campiglio is one of Italy's best-known ski resorts, popular with families and with skiers who come for its forests and views.
