About this artwork
Rows of vines rush towards the horizon in this Burgundy vineyard print, alternating bands of crimson and gold that converge on a single point in the distance. Weathered wooden posts mark the ends of the rows in the foreground, and the leaves are laid on in thick, flickering strokes that make them shimmer.
The vineyards ripple on across low hills, broken by trees in rust and red, until they reach a village on a rise: a cluster of pale stone houses with red roofs gathered around a church with a tall, pointed spire. Behind it, mist fills the valleys and fades into faraway blue hills. Above, a heavy sky of olive, slate and charcoal cloud opens onto a warm strip of orange evening light. The scene feels unhurried and harvest-time, with the depth of a 19th-century French landscape.
About Burgundy Wine Country
Burgundy, or Bourgogne, is a historic region of eastern France famed for its wine. Its best-known vineyards run along the Côte d'Or, divided into the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the main grapes. The vineyards are split into small, precisely defined plots called climats, a system shaped partly by medieval monks, and in 2015 the Climats of Burgundy were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. After the harvest, the vines turn red and gold.

Questions & answers
Is this a specific village in Burgundy?
No. The hilltop village and church spire are an imagined composite inspired by the wine villages of Burgundy, rather than a particular commune, so the print evokes the region's autumn landscape as a whole.
Is the Burgundy vineyard print a good gift for wine lovers?
Yes. With its harvest-season vines and French village setting, it suits wine lovers, francophiles and anyone who has toured Burgundy, and it looks right at home near a dining table or wine rack.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
