About this artwork
A barn-red covered bridge spans a rocky river at the centre of this Vermont print, its dark entrance and timber sides catching the light, with wooden railings leading on to the far bank. To the left stands a white clapboard church with a tall steeple topped by a cross, set among the trees on a small rise.
Autumn is everywhere. Maples blaze crimson, scarlet and gold on both sides, with dark green conifers tucked in between, and leaves frame the foreground in sharp detail. The river tumbles under the bridge, white where it meets the rocks and glassy where it pools, holding red reflections of the bridge. Behind, mist drifts through a wooded valley towards blue mountains, beneath a sky of slate and gold cloud. It is a nostalgic, storybook view of New England at peak colour.
About Vermont in Autumn
Vermont, in the New England region of the north-eastern United States, is one of America's best-known destinations for autumn colour. Its Green Mountains and valleys are thick with sugar maples, which turn brilliant red and orange, and the state is the country's largest producer of maple syrup. Vermont also has more than a hundred historic covered bridges, built with roofs to protect their timber structure from rain and snow, and white wooden churches remain a defining sight in its villages.
How to style it
Brings warmth to a living room, kitchen or family room with cream, sage or barn-red accents. It pairs with the Cotswolds autumn lane for a seasonal pair. Explore the full Moody Vintage Landscapes collection.

Questions & answers
Is this a real covered bridge in Vermont?
It is an imagined scene inspired by Vermont's many historic covered bridges and village churches, not a portrait of one particular bridge. It gathers the state's best-loved autumn sights into one composition.
When is autumn colour at its peak in Vermont?
Usually from late September to mid-October, starting in the northern mountains and moving south and into the valleys. Exact timing varies from year to year with the weather.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
