About this artwork
Two walls of rock rise almost vertically on either side of this Geirangerfjord print, their faces streaked in burgundy, slate and moss, with pines clinging to the ledges. Long white waterfalls pour down both cliffs, splitting into ribbons before vanishing into mist at the waterline.
Between them the fjord runs away into the distance, narrowing towards a gap where further cliffs fade into cloud. A single small wooden boat with a mast sits on the dark green water in the middle, its reflection trailing below it. Smooth boulders edge the near shore. Overhead, the sky burns with crimson and ochre cloud that brightens to gold above the fjord, spilling light down onto the water. The sense of scale is the point: the boat is tiny, the cliffs immense, and the falls seem to drop from the sky itself.
About Geirangerfjord
Geirangerfjord is a narrow arm of the Storfjord system in western Norway, in the county of Møre og Romsdal. Lined by steep mountainsides and abandoned clifftop farms, it is famous for its waterfalls, especially the Seven Sisters and, facing them across the water, the Suitor. Together with the Nærøyfjord, it was listed by UNESCO in 2005 as part of the West Norwegian Fjords World Heritage Site. The village of Geiranger at its head is a popular stop for ferries and cruise ships.

Questions & answers
Are the Seven Sisters waterfalls in the print?
Not exactly. The design shows tall waterfalls facing each other across the fjord, which echoes the real Seven Sisters and the Suitor, but the falls and cliffs are composed freely for drama rather than drawn as a precise record.
Is there a boat in the Geirangerfjord print?
Yes. A small wooden boat with a single mast sits in the middle of the fjord. It adds a sense of scale and calm against the towering cliffs and waterfalls.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
