About this artwork
Wooden rowing boats crowd the foreground of this Lago di Braies print, their warm brown hulls and benches drawn in close detail. Some are tied alongside a weathered plank dock that juts in from the right, others drift a little apart, each sitting on its own dark reflection.
Beyond them the lake opens out in deep emerald and jade, so still that the mountain is mirrored almost whole across its surface. That mountain dominates the scene: a massive pale limestone face, streaked with scree and patches of dark forest, its upper slopes softened by drifting mist. Wooded cliffs close in on the left, with a few small buildings near the shore. Above, crimson and ochre cloud sweeps across an olive sky. It is a calm, enveloping view with the rich colour of an old Alpine travel picture.
About Lago di Braies
Lago di Braies, known in German as Pragser Wildsee, is a mountain lake in South Tyrol, northern Italy, within the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park. It lies at the foot of the Croda del Becco, or Seekofel, whose pale limestone walls rise above the water. The lake is famous for its green colour, its wooden boathouse and the rowing boats hired out in summer, and it is the starting point of the Alta Via 1 high-level trail. The Dolomites are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Where is Lago di Braies?
In the Braies valley, a side valley of the Puster Valley in South Tyrol, northern Italy. It lies in the Dolomites within the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, beneath the Croda del Becco.
Why is the lake green in the print?
The emerald colour reflects the real lake, which is known for its clear green water. The design deepens it with jade and olive tones so it sits comfortably with the burgundy and ochre sky.
Is a frame included?
