About this artwork
A white waterfall drops down a cleft in the granite at the centre of this Peneda-Gerês poster, splashing into a small cascade and then a clear teal pool ringed with rounded boulders. Above it, pale grey crags streaked with rust rise in tall towers, with a smaller peak far beyond and a golden sun in a teal sky.
Wild horses bring the scene to life. On the left hillside, a chestnut and a dark bay graze in the golden grass beside a white pony with a dark mane, while a white horse stands near the pool on the right. Broad oaks with rust-red trunks and rounded green crowns frame both sides, and small dark pines dot the slopes, which glow in ochre and rust. It is an original ITCLabStudio design in the style of 1930s screen-print travel posters, completed by a cream title band with Peneda-Gerês and National Park · Portugal.
About Peneda-Gerês
Peneda-Gerês is Portugal's only national park, created in 1971 in the far north of the country along the border with Spain. Its granite mountains are cut by rivers, waterfalls and clear pools, and are home to oak woods, traditional stone villages and stretches of an old Roman road. Garrano horses, a small native breed, roam its hillsides, and the park also shelters the Iberian wolf. Across the border, the protected landscape continues into Spain's Baixa Limia–Serra do Xurés natural park.

Questions & answers
Are the horses in the Peneda-Gerês poster wild?
Yes, they are inspired by the semi-wild horses that roam the park's hillsides, such as the native Garrano. The design stylises them freely, in chestnut, bay and white, to balance the warm palette of the scene.
Is this an official Peneda-Gerês product?
No. It is an original ITCLabStudio design made in the style of vintage screen-print travel posters. It is not produced or endorsed by the park or by any Portuguese authority.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
