A red canoe rests on a pebbled shore in the foreground of this Banff National Park poster, its cream gunwales and wooden thwarts neatly outlined, beside a pile of grey boulders. Ahead lies a lake of startling turquoise, smooth enough to reflect the pines on its far bank.
A wall of jagged peaks rises beyond the water, banded in navy, rust, grey and cream, with snow lodged in every gully and a long pale scree slope sweeping down to the forest. On the left, a rust-coloured mountainside drops steeply to the lake, and dark spruce crowd the right-hand shore. The sky is a single flat field of mustard gold, which makes the blue-green water glow even brighter. Created by ITCLabStudio as an original design, it borrows the bold, simplified look of 1930s screen-print travel posters and carries Banff and National Park · Canada on its cream title band.
About Banff National Park
Banff is Canada's first national park, established in 1885 around the hot springs of what is now the town of Banff, in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta. It is famous for glacier-fed lakes such as Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, whose vivid turquoise comes from fine rock flour carried in by meltwater. Together with neighbouring parks, including Jasper, it forms part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Questions & answers
Is the Banff poster based on Moraine Lake?
It is inspired by Banff's turquoise glacial lakes, and the rockpile shore and row of jagged peaks recall Moraine Lake in particular. The scene is freely interpreted, though, rather than an exact view of one spot.
Is this an official Parks Canada poster?
No. It is an original design by the independent studio ITCLabStudio, made in a vintage screen-print style. It is not produced, licensed or endorsed by Parks Canada or by Banff National Park.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
