About this artwork
Old-world elegance meets alpine sunshine in this Megève poster. A red and black horse-drawn coach with tall red-spoked wheels and polished brass lamps rolls across a snowy village square, passengers in hats visible through its windows and a coachman up front, drawn by a single chestnut horse.
Behind it stands a stone church with a rose window, an arched doorway and a square bell tower rising to a dark pointed spire and gold cross. Houses in red, cream and sunny yellow line the square, with red shutters, wooden balconies and a striped red awning, while small firs and a few passers-by add life to the snow. Beyond the rooftops, dark pine forest climbs to broad white mountains, and a round golden sun shines in a clear blue sky with a few soft clouds. A cream title band at the top carries Megève in red geometric capitals, with France in small navy letters.
About Megève
Megève is a village in the Haute-Savoie department of the French Alps, with views towards Mont Blanc. It became a winter resort in the 1920s, when Baroness Noémie de Rothschild chose it as a French alternative to St. Moritz, and it has kept an elegant, old-fashioned charm ever since. Its medieval centre, gathered around the church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, is largely pedestrian in winter, and horse-drawn carriages and sleighs are a familiar sight in its snowy streets.
How to style it
A graceful choice for an entrance hall, a dining room or a living room with classic French or chalet touches. Pair it with the Gstaad design for two horse-drawn village scenes, or with Courchevel and Val d'Isère for a French Alps trio. Explore the full Vintage Ski Posters collection.

Questions & answers
Is the horse-drawn coach in the Megève poster true to the village?
Yes, in spirit. Horse-drawn carriages and sleighs are a familiar sight in Megève's largely pedestrian centre in winter. The coach in the design is imagined and simplified, with red wheels and brass lamps chosen to suit the poster palette.
Why is there no skier in the Megève poster?
The design celebrates the village itself, its church square, colourful houses and horse-drawn traffic, rather than the slopes. It brings a calmer, more elegant note to a gallery wall of action-filled ski scenes.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
