About this artwork
A cheerful young skier fills the foreground of this St. Moritz poster, grinning beneath a red helmet, big goggles and ear muffs. He wears a chunky red turtleneck, navy trousers and white gloves, and his red skis angle across a sunlit bank of snow. Behind him spreads a frozen lake, its blue ice crazed with fine white cracks.
Out on the ice, two brown horses in dark harness pull an empty red sleigh with curling gold trim and a cushion of snow on its seat. On the far shore stand a small wooden cabin, a lone figure and rows of snow-laden firs, with sharp white peaks shaded in navy beyond. A golden sun bursts out in long thin rays at the top right. In the finished print, St. Moritz is set in bold red capitals on a cream band above the scene, with Switzerland in small navy type.
About St. Moritz
St. Moritz lies in the Upper Engadine valley in the canton of Graubünden, south-eastern Switzerland, beside a lake that freezes over each winter. It is often described as the birthplace of alpine winter tourism: in 1864, the hotelier Johannes Badrutt is said to have invited English summer guests to return for the winter, promising them sunshine. The Engadine is known for its dry, sunny climate, and the frozen lake has long hosted winter events, including horse races run on the ice.

Questions & answers
Why is there a horse-drawn sleigh on the lake?
It nods to St. Moritz's frozen lake, which has hosted winter events on the ice for generations, and to the horse-drawn sleighs long linked with Engadine winters. Here two brown horses pull an empty red sleigh while the young skier passes in the foreground.
Is the St. Moritz poster suitable for a child's room?
Yes. The smiling young skier, red sleigh and bright sun give it a friendly, story-book feel, and the clear colours stay cheerful from across the room. A natural wood frame keeps it warm and soft.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
