Jagged towers of sun-warmed rock dominate the skyline of this Val Gardena ski poster. They rise in tall tan and ochre spires above rolling snowfields, snow resting on their ledges, with smaller white peaks and red-streaked ridges fading away on either side.
From the foot of the towers, a long run curves down through the hills like a ribbon, carrying a line of skiers in red, yellow and blue towards the viewer. Small log huts with snowy roofs and wooden fences sit beside the piste, dark firs gather in the hollows, and sweeps of red and golden yellow catch the sunlight on the slopes. A golden sun bursts in at the top right, cropped by the edge, with a couple of small white clouds drifting across a clear blue sky. Above the scene, a cream band carries Val Gardena in large red capitals and Italy in small navy letters.
About Val Gardena
Val Gardena is a valley in South Tyrol, northern Italy, in the heart of the Dolomites. Its three main villages, Ortisei, Santa Cristina and Selva, are home to the Ladin language and culture, and the valley has a centuries-old tradition of woodcarving. Above it rise the Sassolungo, the Sella group and the grassy Seceda ridge with its jagged rock spires. Val Gardena also lies on a celebrated ski circuit that loops around the Sella massif, linking it with neighbouring valleys.

Which mountains appear in the Val Gardena poster?
The towers are a stylised take on the jagged Dolomite peaks that surround Val Gardena, such as the Sassolungo and the spires of the Seceda ridge. They are interpreted freely in flat colour rather than drawn as an exact view.
Does the Val Gardena poster suit a home office?
