About this artwork

The Matterhorn takes centre stage in this Zermatt ski poster, its pyramid summit rising into a clear sky-blue morning. Snow clings to every ridge, while bold flashes of warm red pick out the rock faces and give the peak the graphic punch of a mid-century travel print. A round golden sun with spiky rays sits high on the left, and soft white clouds drift in from the right.

Lower down, two skiers carve side by side across fresh snow: one in a yellow jacket and red trousers, the other in red with navy trousers, both wearing goggles and small rucksacks. A log chalet with red-framed windows and a stone chimney waits on the right, a few dark pines behind it. A fine paper grain softens the flat colours. Across the top, a cream title band carries Zermatt in large red geometric capitals, with Switzerland in small navy letters beneath.

About Zermatt and the Matterhorn

Zermatt is a car-free village in the canton of Valais in southern Switzerland, set at the head of the Mattertal beneath the Matterhorn. With its near-pyramid shape, the mountain straddles the border between Switzerland and Italy and is one of the most recognisable peaks in the Alps. It was first climbed in 1865 by a party led by the English climber Edward Whymper. Zermatt's ski area climbs onto glacier slopes high above the village, where skiing is possible even in summer, and links across the border with Breuil-Cervinia in Italy.

How to style it

Hang it in a chalet hallway, a boot room or a living room with pale wood and red-check textiles. It pairs naturally with the Grindelwald and Verbier designs for a Swiss trio. Explore the full Vintage Ski Posters collection.

Questions & answers

Is this an official Zermatt resort poster?

No. It is an original ITCLabStudio design created in the spirit of mid-century alpine ski posters. It is not a vintage original, a reproduction or a tourism-board poster, and it has no connection with any resort operator.

Which mountain is shown in the Zermatt poster?

The Matterhorn. Its pyramid-shaped summit, picked out in navy, white and warm red, fills the centre of the design and rises above the two skiers and the log chalet below.

Is a frame included?

Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.

Which size should I choose?

As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.

How is my print made and shipped?

Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
