About Biarritz
Biarritz is a seaside town on the Bay of Biscay in the French Basque Country, close to the Spanish border. Once a whaling village, it became a fashionable resort in the 19th century after Empress Eugénie and Napoleon III built a villa there, now the Hôtel du Palais. The Grande Plage, the Rocher de la Vierge and the lighthouse on Pointe Saint-Martin are its best-known landmarks, and Biarritz is often called the cradle of European surfing.

Questions & answers
Is the lighthouse in Biarritz really striped?
No. The real Biarritz lighthouse on Pointe Saint-Martin is white. The design gives it red and white stripes to echo the parasols and add a playful seaside note, in keeping with the art deco poster style.
Would the Biarritz print suit a surf lover?
Yes. Biarritz is often called the cradle of European surfing, and the big rolling waves on the left of the design nod to that. Its elegant promenade and parasols also make it a good fit for anyone who loves classic seaside resorts.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
