A cobbled lane winds uphill through the heart of the frame, its stones drawn in warm sand and brown. On both sides, whitewashed houses wear the classic Óbidos trim: deep blue bands along the base and corners, ochre-yellow frames around windows and doors, terracotta tiles on the roofs. Wrought-iron balconies, carriage lanterns and navy doors give the walls a steady rhythm.
Coral-red bougainvillea spills over the houses on both sides, its twisting stems climbing from the bottom left corner. Higher up, rooftops stack towards a green hill crowned by the castle, a long line of crenellated towers glowing against a pale gold sky. As with the whole collection, this Óbidos travel poster is an original ITCLabStudio design with a 1930s art deco feel, and the town's name sits in navy capitals on a cream band at the bottom.
About Óbidos
Óbidos is a small medieval town in Portugal's Oeste region, north of Lisbon, enclosed by castle walls that visitors can walk along. Inside, narrow cobbled streets lead past whitewashed houses edged in blue and yellow, churches and flower-covered façades. For centuries the town was traditionally given as a wedding gift to Portuguese queens, which earned it the nickname Vila das Rainhas, the Town of Queens. It is also known for ginjinha, a sour-cherry liqueur often served in little chocolate cups.
How to style it

Questions & answers
Why are the houses in Óbidos edged in blue and yellow?
It is a traditional local look. Many houses inside the walled town are whitewashed with bands of blue or yellow around their bases, doors and windows, and the poster uses that trim to give the lane its colour and rhythm.
Does the print show the real Óbidos castle?
It shows a stylised version. The long line of crenellated towers on the hilltop echoes Óbidos Castle and its walls, simplified into art deco shapes, while the lane and houses are an imagined composition of the town's typical streets.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
