About this artwork
A round little owl sits on a thin brown branch, gripping it with pale, curved toes. Its face is the first thing you notice: two big, dark, shining eyes set in a cream facial disc, a small hooked beak and a pair of feathery ear tufts tipped with terracotta and blue. The head is washed in soft sage green and freckled with tiny brown markings.
Below, the chest is warm sand speckled with delicate darts, and the folded wing shows neat bands of terracotta, dusty blue and cream, ending in barred tail feathers. A few sage leaves sprout from the branch on either side, balancing the composition. Drawn by ITCLabStudio as original digital artwork, this owl nursery print uses a gentle watercolour-style illustration with fine pencil-like lines and plenty of calm off-white space.
About Owls
Owls are birds of prey found on every continent except Antarctica, and most species hunt at dusk or after dark. Large, forward-facing eyes and dish-shaped faces, which channel sound towards the ears, make them superb night hunters, while soft, fringed edges on their flight feathers allow near-silent flight. Young owls, called owlets, are covered in fluffy down, and many clamber out of the nest onto nearby branches before they can fly well.
How to style it
A natural fit for a woodland nursery, a forest-themed kids' room or above a bookshelf in a reading nook. Pair it with the sleeping fox and red squirrel designs for a woodland gallery wall. Explore the full Woodland & Safari Nursery Art collection.

Questions & answers
Is the baby owl print suitable for a boy or a girl?
Both. The muted sage, sand, terracotta and dusty blue palette is gender neutral, and owls are a much-loved storybook animal for any child, so the print suits nurseries, shared rooms and older kids' bedrooms equally well.
What kind of owl is shown?
It is a stylised baby owl rather than a specific species. The ear tufts, round facial disc and barred wing feathers borrow from several real owls, softened into a friendly storybook character for a child's room.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
