About Rhinos
Rhinoceroses are large, thick-skinned plant eaters found in Africa and Asia. The white and black rhinos live in Africa, while the greater one-horned, Javan and Sumatran rhinos live in Asia. A rhino's horn is made of keratin, the same material as hair and fingernails. Calves stay close to their mothers until they are a few years old. In Africa, small birds called oxpeckers often ride on rhinos, eating ticks and calling out when danger approaches.
