About this artwork
A big striped hot air balloon floats high in an open sky, its panels coloured in terracotta, sage green, mustard sand and dusty blue, each stripe softly mottled. Fine ropes run from a scalloped band around the base of the balloon down to a round wicker basket. Inside, a little bear cub sits snugly, its head and front paws resting over the rim as it peers out at the world with a gentle smile and rosy cheeks.
A short length of rope dangles from one side of the basket, and its woven texture is drawn in fine detail. Four puffy clouds drift around the balloon, two in warm sand and two in pale blue-grey, giving a gentle sense of height and calm. The cub's fur is a soft honey brown. This hot air balloon nursery print is a whimsical original digital artwork by ITCLabStudio that invites big dreams and bedtime adventures.
About Hot Air Balloons
A hot air balloon flies because the air inside its envelope is heated by a burner, making it lighter than the cooler air around it. The first public demonstrations were made by the Montgolfier brothers in France in 1783. That September, one of their balloons carried its very first passengers at Versailles: a sheep, a duck and a rooster, which landed safely. Later that year, two men made the first crewed free flight over Paris, opening the age of human flight.
How to style it
Dreamy on a feature wall in a travel, adventure or sky-themed nursery, or in a toddler's room with soft clouds and pastel accents. Pair it with the curious bear cub design, whose upward gaze makes a sweet story pairing. Explore the full Woodland & Safari Nursery Art collection.

Questions & answers
Is the hot air balloon bear a good gift for a new baby?
Yes. A bear cub setting off on a balloon adventure in its little basket is a sweet way to wish a little one big dreams and a life of exploring. The gender-neutral palette of sage, sand, dusty blue and terracotta suits most nursery schemes.
Which nursery themes suit the hot air balloon print?
Travel, adventure, sky and cloud themes are the natural match, along with classic teddy-bear nurseries. It also works beside the woodland animals in the same collection, especially the curious bear cub looking upwards.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
