About this artwork
A polar bear cub sits facing forward on a small patch of snow, its back legs stretched out so the dark, padded soles of its feet show on either side. It looks straight at the viewer with round black eyes, a shiny black nose and a soft, closed smile, and warm terracotta blushes colour its cheeks. Small rounded ears complete its teddy-like face.
Instead of plain white, the cub's thick fur is a soft blend of cream with drifts of sage green and golden sand, worked in fine, fluffy strokes. The snow beneath it is drawn in white with icy dusty-blue shadows that spread out in loose, broken shapes. Above, there is nothing but calm off-white space. ITCLabStudio drew this polar bear nursery print as original digital artwork, a cosy watercolour-style illustration for cool, quiet rooms.
About Polar Bears
Polar bears live around the Arctic Ocean and depend on sea ice as a platform for hunting seals. Although their fur looks white, the individual hairs are actually transparent, and the skin underneath is black. Cubs are born in midwinter in snow dens dug by their mothers, and they first come out into the daylight in spring. They stay with their mother for their first couple of years, learning to hunt and to swim strongly in icy water.
How to style it
A calm choice for an Arctic, winter or ocean nursery, or a cool-toned kids' room in white, grey and pale blue. Pair it with the seal pup and sea turtle designs for an ocean and Arctic gallery. Explore the full Woodland & Safari Nursery Art collection.

Questions & answers
Why isn't the polar bear pure white?
The cub's fur is tinted with sage and sand so it matches the soft palette shared by every design in the collection. The cream base still reads clearly as a polar bear, and the gentle colour makes it feel warmer on the wall.
Does the polar bear print suit a winter or Arctic nursery?
Yes. The snow patch and icy blue shadows make it a natural fit for an Arctic, snowy or winter theme. It also pairs well with ocean designs, since polar bears depend on the sea for their food.
Is a frame included?
Only if you choose a framed format. The Natural Wood Frame and Black Metal Frame options arrive assembled with acrylic glazing and are ready to hang. The Unframed Art Print arrives without a frame, and the Aluminium and Wood Prints need no frame at all.
Which size should I choose?
As a rule of thumb, choose art about two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it. 50 × 70 cm makes a statement above a sofa or bed, 30 × 40 cm suits shelves, desks and gallery walls. Our size guide shows every size to scale.
How is my print made and shipped?
Each print is made to order for you, then shipped with tracking from a production partner close to your address. You receive the tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves production.
